Clan: Loner.

Overall: Ref. Photo. River is a well-built, balanced male. His body is mostly streamlined, but his muscles are hard and lean. He has strong legs and slightly larger than average paws, as well as a long tail tipped with dark grey. His fur is predominately silver-grey, but tabby stripes of a slightly darker shade break the silver. These markings are not always visible if the lighting is not right or if he is wet, but they are more obvious on his face. His fur is slightly lengthy and thick but not to a point where it becomes difficult to keep clean and free of mats. River has light olive-green eyes, and a faint scar runs diagonally over the bridge of his muzzle.

Dislikes: Interruption, hot and humid days, birds of prey, fat cats.
Fears: Being unable to take care of himself, two-legs (a hate and a fear), drowning.
Obsessions: Fishing, water voles, keeping fit.
Ideals: Courage, potential, utility.
Other: River is not a complicated cat with multiple levels of emotion needs. He’s practical, sharp, and independent, valuing his and other’s usefulness in terms of survival and resiliency. Although he at first comes across as being disinterested and impatient, he will go to the ends of the earth to protect his friends and the cats he cares about. River is not one to forget a favour either, and he hates owing another a debt. Despite his lack of interest in having his own kits, he is fascinated by the potential of kits to grow, develop, and change.
HISTORY
Family: Fly (mother, loner), Talon (father, loner), Sing (sister, loner)
History: River and his sister, Sing, were born to a loner couple in the older section of a two-leg neighbourhood. Their kittenhood was normal, and the two grew up with their mother’s love and their father’s experience. Although River’s silver colouration came from his mother, his personality was all his father, and he spent his youth hunting and running after the older male. Sing, meanwhile, had the more reserved disposition and remained close to their mother. As the kits grew up, they separated from their parents, traveling farther and farther on their own and returning home only to visit. It continued like this for many moons, but as their parents aged, life began to change. Fly was the first to die, being stricken by disease in the winter of her 151st moon. Talon, getting on in his years, too, was devastated though he carried on like normal. The kits tried to be around more, but River was young and in his prime, and although he regrets it in his later years, his mind was far from his ailing father. In his 144th moon, Talon (still as proud and stubborn as he was in his 44th moon) was determined to catch his own prey, and as he chased a rabbit across a road, he was hit by a car and wounded fatally. Sing was there as he died, but River only made it to see Talon give his final breath. His absence at their father’s death shattered the relationship between the siblings, and Sing left the area, but not before telling the then-young and arrogant River just what she thought of him. It was unlike the sweet she-cat she had always been, and River was shocked. His sister avoided him ever since that, even going as far as to completely leave the vast region of streets and forest they had haunted since youth. He has not seen her since.
River carried on alone, holding on to the memory of what had happened and the words his sister had said. He lost the boyish stupidity and arrogance due to that incidence, but he still remained a proud cat. Since then, he has wandered alone, exploring the neighbouring forests and streams.
