Rank: kittypet
APPEARANCE
Body Type: average
Fur: ginger
Eyes: amber
Markings: dark ginger stripes
Overall: THIS
Old and ragged, Eli's ginger tabby coat appears mangy and unkempt...because it is. The old tomcat has lost interest in keeping his pelt clean, and there is never a moment in which he is not dotted with stalks of hay. Dull claws and teeth, as well as near-deaf ears, show how much Eli has aged. However, his gentle amber eyes remain as sharp and strong as they ever were in his younger years.

History: Eli was born first in a litter of three to the two barn cats Montana and Delilah. He and his siblings, Virginia and Dakota, were completely identical in appearance and personality. They spent every waking hour together, and the life they lived was certainly a charmed one that consisted of chasing mice through the barn, sleeping in the hayloft, and playing around the stalls of the horses and cattle.
The first real trial in the three young cats' lives came when they were 20 moons old. An infestation of rats forced them to move out of the barn in which they lived, but their fiesty mother Delilah was not one to sleep outside forever. In an uncharacteristically rash decision, the she-cat entered the barn at night in an attempt to fight off the rats. Montana, Eli, Dakota, and Virginia awoke to her pained yowls and rushed to aid her. Together, fighting to defend their beloved mother/mate, the four cats killed off dozens of rats and sent the other ones running. They moved back into the barn that night and made Delilah comfortable, but they knew it was too late; the she-cat died several days later from many infested wounds, and her family could only watch helplessly as she passed away.
This was the first touch with reality that Eli had. He began to see things differently, and to fight off the pain of his mother's death he became a true daredevil. Only Dakota elected to go with him when he left the Twoleg Farm and ventured into the Wetlands beyond. It was here, after several moons of wandering around, picking fights, and generally stirring up trouble that Dakota fell prey to the thick, inescapable mud of the Swamplands. Helpless to save his drowning brother, Eli once again could only watch as a family member died. After that, he wandered alone for many moons until, at 100 moons old, he returned to the Twoleg Farm.
In his absence, Montana had died of old age, leaving Virginia alone in the barn. She was overjoyed to see her brother, and Eli was overjoyed to see her. They both mourned the death of their family, and drew closer because of it. Over the next 44 moons, Eli mellowed out greatly, humbled by the helplessness he had felt during his family members' deaths and his experiences he had had while wandering the forest alone. Now, at 144 moons, he still lives with his sister Virginia in one of the barns. He has taken a great shine to the offspring of chickens, and likes nothing better than to hang around the little chicks. So old and calm is he that even the hens do not worry to keep him from their babies.
